Best Fur Contest

The Dryden Trappers Council holds a “Best Fur Contest” at its Annual Fall Meeting which is open to members only and is for the most valuable fur sold in the previous season.

Categories:

  • Most Valuable Beaver sold – $50.00 cash prize
  • Most Valuable Fisher sold – $50.00 cash prize
  • Most Valuable Marten sold – $50.00 cash prize
  • Most Valuable Mink sold – $50.00 cash prize
  • Most Valuable Lynx sold – $50.00 cash prize
  • Most Valuable Otter sold – $50.00 cash prize
  • Most Valuable Weasel sold – $50.00 cash prize
  • Least Valuable Beaver sold – Free Dryden Trappers Council membership for the upcoming season

Rules:

  • All entrants in the “Best Fur Contest” must be present and be a paid member in good standing of the Dryden Trappers Council prior to the date on the sales return provided for proof of sale of fur being considered for the contest.
  • All fur entered must be sold through North American Fur Auctions or Fur Harvesters Auction.
  • All fur being considered must be entered with an original complete sales return as proof of sale at the annual fall meeting of the Dryden Trapper’s Council. A partial sales return will not be accepted.
  • Only fur belonging to the member entering it will be eligible.
  • The amount shown on the sales receipt to be used will be the actual sale price in Canadian Dollars prior to the commission and royalties being paid.
  • Each member will only be allowed to enter one (1) fur in each of the seven (7) categories.
  • In the event of a tie, the cash prizes will be split equally amongst the winners.
  • The Dryden Trappers Council executive will appoint two (2) scrutineers to determine the winners.  All and any discrepancies will be settled by the Executive and their decision will be final.
  • All prizes will be awarded at the meeting when the contest is held.
